Who are we?

We’re a collective of experienced lawyers that are here to disrupt the traditional model of legal service delivery. Banded together from a diverse range of corporate and mid-tier firm backgrounds, we’re pushing for change in the way legal services are delivered.
Why are we?

We believe that the traditional hourly fee based billing model used by law firms has several inherent flaws, particularly when considering the pressure that model can place on solicitors to maximise their billable hours.

As senior lawyers, we’ve seen first hand the way that the traditional model of legal service delivery can create a misalignment of incentives. Solicitors feel compelled to increase their billable hours to meet targets and advance their careers, potentially leading to inefficiencies and overbilling. In turn, that can result in clients being charged for more hours than necessary and even engaging in unnecessary tasks with questionable benefit to clients, eventually eroding client trust and satisfaction.

We’ve also seen first hand how the hourly billing model can discourage innovation and efficiency. Since law firms are compensated based on the time spent rather than the value delivered, there is little financial incentive to adopt more efficient practices or technologies that could reduce the time required to complete tasks.
